Results From The 2011 Carlsbad Invite — Clovis High’s cross country teams finished second to Hobbs on Saturday in the Roswell Invitational.
Hobbs finished with 45 points in boys competition to 50 for the Wildcats, while the Lady Eagles had a score of 20 to 37 for the Lady Wildcats.
Junior Chase Beausoleil led the CHS boys, finishing third in a personal-best time of 16 minutes, five seconds. Clovis put five runners in the top 15.
The girls, meantime, were led by senior Gladys Miranda, who was second in 18:59. Also finishing in the top 10 were Rebekah Gallop (eighth in 20:27), Maddie McNaughton (ninth in 20:29) and Amy Miranda (10th in 20:38).
“Gladys has been running very well lately, and Saturday was a great performance,” CHS coach Mike Hankins said. “The girls had a really good day, considering how beaten up we are,” CHS coach Mike Hankins said. “Amy and Maddie ran for the first time since Carlsbad (on Sept.17).”
Clovis teams return to action on Thursday in an invitational meet at Hobbs, scheduled to begin at 3 p.m
